‘CSI’ Finale Promises ‘Pivotal’ Moment, Plus Quotes & Pics

As CSI Files previously reported, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will come to an end with a two-hour TV movie scheduled to air on Sunday, September 27. The series finale will feature the return of Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) and William Petersen (Gil Grissom), and according to TV Line, there will be a “significant time jump” between the end of season 15 and the start of the TV movie.

‘CSI’ Finale Starts Filming In July

Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) is reprising her role in the two-hour series finale of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and she’s also going to appear in the upcoming third season of Under the Dome. Helgenberger sat down with CBS This Morning on Monday to talk about both shows, and she revealed the CSI series finale will start filming at the end of July. “It will be great,” she said of reuniting with the cast, including former leading man William Petersen (Gil Grissom). “That cast was magic, we really all loved each other and had so much fun on the set, a lot of great memories.”

Rambo Returns For ‘CSI’ Finale

Helgenberger Talks ‘CSI’ Finale, Plus Tweets & Pics

As CSI Files previously reported, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will end with a two-hour TV movie that will air on Sunday, September 27. Original stars Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) and William Petersen (Gil Grissom) are both confirmed to be returning for the series finale. Helgenberger spoke to Entertainment Tonight earlier this week, and you can watch the brief interview below:

CBS Stars Attend Summer Soiree

CBS held the 3rd Annual Summer Soiree on Monday, May 18. The event celebrates the network’s lineup of summertime series. There were a number of CBS stars in attendance, including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’s former leading lady Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows); she will appear in the upcoming third season of Under the Dome, which premieres on June 25.

Petersen & Helgenberger Return For 2-Hour ‘CSI’ Finale, Danson Joins ‘CSI:Cyber’

CBS announced today that CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will end with a two-hour TV movie, as previously reported. Original stars William Petersen (Gil Grissom) and Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) are set to reprise their roles in the series-ending storyline, which will air on Sunday, September 27. “We’re actually a little misty-eyed about this one,” CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said. “It was a series that was so important to this network, and we will have an epic finale to start the season.”

Additionally, it was announced that current CSI star Ted Danson (DB Russell) would join the cast of CSI: Cyber going into the show’s second season. He will be a series regular, but there is no further information about how else the cast might be affected by the “retooling” mentioned here. “It’s going to be a season of very big events,” Tassler revealed.

Happy ‘World CSI Day’!

As CSI Files previously reported, today is “World CSI Day”. CBS is celebrating 15 years of the CSI franchise, along with tonight’s premiere of the latest spinoff, CSI: Cyber. In less than 15 minutes, CBS will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for “Largest Ever TV Drama Simulcast” by airing Cyber’s backdoor pilot, “Kitty”, in more than 150 countries at 7:00pm EST. Helgenberger Explores ‘The Other Place’

Former CSI: Crime Scene Investigation leading lady Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) is currently starring in the Barrington Stage Company production of The Other Place in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She and the director, Christopher Innvar, met with the press earlier this month to discuss the play—here’s a quote from Helgenberger:

I have been wanting to do a play for a very, very long time. For various reasons it just didn’t quite work out. For CSI I was tied up for twelve years and the hiatus is two months. That doesn’t leave you a whole lot of time to do a play. Also I was raising my son in LA. So I just really didn’t want to be away. But, having said that, since I left the show in December of 2011, I went around and met with producers in New York. Of course Los Angeles too and Chicago. I expressed my interest in it. (Theatre) They were all eager to meet with me. They would say let’s find something, let’s find something. (exasperated gasp and self amusement) A few things came along but nothing I really wanted to do. So, I don’t know, it really kindah has to do with the part. It was one of these roles that I really couldn’t not do. It was so amazing. It is amazing. I felt if not now when? I felt once I’ve done with this I’ll be so proud of myself. (soft laugh of relief then outburst of laughter)

Criminal Minds and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will be back with new episodes next Wednesday, January 15. This week, CBS will air the People’s Choice Awards live from 9:00-11:00pm ET. As CSI Files previously reported, NCIS and Criminal Minds are nominated in the “Favorite TV Crime Drama” category, and NCIS’s Mark Harmon (Leroy Jethro Gibbs) and Pauley Perrette (Abby Sciuto) are in the “Favorite Dramatic TV Actor” and “Favorite Dramatic TV Actress” categories. Helgenberger’s New Series ‘Intelligence’ Premieres Tonight

As CSI Files previously reported, former CSI: Crime Scene Investigation actress Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) stars in the new CBS drama Intelligence. The show will premiere tonight at 9:00pm ET/PT, in the timeslot normally occupied by NCIS: Los Angeles. The pilot will be re-aired this Friday, January 10 at 8:00pm ET/PT, and the show will move to its permanent Monday 10:00pm ET/PT timeslot starting with episode two next week.
