Interview: Anthony E. Zuiker

‘Widow Detective’ Gets A Director

As CSI Files previously reported, CBS ordered CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Executive Producer Carol Mendelsohn‘s new series to pilot. Widow Detective, written by David Hubbard, now has a director in placeDavis Guggenheim. Guggenheim is married to Elisabeth Shue, who will join CSI February 15.

Helgenberger’s Exit Pulls In Season High Ratings For ‘CSI’

The latest episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, “Willows in the Wind”, earned the top spot on Wednesday, January 25. Marg Helgenberger’s (Catherine Willows) final show pulled in 14.03 million viewers, which are the highest numbers in more than a year. This was more than enough to put the crime drama ahead of a repeat of Law & Order: SVU (4.01 million) and a repeat of Revenge (3.12 million). In the key 18-49 demographic prized by advertisers, Helgenberger’s exit earned a season-high 3.3 rating/9 share. The SVU (1.4/4) and Revenge (0.9/2) repeats came in a distant second and third.

Tonight, Marg Helgenberger‘s run as sexy, smart, and sassy crime scene investigator Catherine Willows will reach its conclusion. A twelve year tenure with more than 250 episodes under her belt, the actress has decided to pursue other opportunities and is bound for more success, whether it be a Broadway show or returning to film. Though her departure will surely bring tears to the show’s audience, the cast and crew of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation are looking on the bright side, reflecting back at their time on the show with the universally adored actress. CSI Files’ Shane Saunders caught up with several of the show’s cast and crew from past and present to talk about their colleague’s departure and favorite memories during a remarkable run.

CBS Orders ‘Widow Detective’ From Mendelsohn

CBS has ordered a new drama from CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Executive Producer Carol Mendelsohn, according to The Hollywood Reporter. As CSI Files previously reported, Mendelsohn has several projects in development with CBS and Widow Detective is the first to be greenlit. Mendelsohn is set to executive produce the project written by David Hubbard.
