NCIS: Los Angeles has a new episode airing tonight at 9:59pm ET/PT. Here’s the first sneak peek from “Blame It On Rio”, featuring Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt), Nell Jones (Renée Felice Smith), Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah), Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), Sam Hanna (LL Cool J), Eric Beale (Barrett Foa), Owen Granger (Miguel Ferrer), G Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and NCIS’s Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly). (You can also find it on CBS.com, CBS Press Express and SpoilerTV.)
Mashable posted several annotated script pages, featuring comments from Weatherly and the episode’s writer, Executive Producer R Scott Gemmill. There’s also another clip from “Blame It On Rio”, featuring Hetty, Tony, Callen and Sam:
Weatherly and Olsen visited The Talk today to discuss the crossover. You can watch the full episode here (skip to 27:00), or check out two clips below:
Olsen spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about tonight’s episode, along with an upcoming storyline. Here’s a comment about Deeks’ reaction to Tony:
He partners up with Kensi and I, and he’s flirting with her, and she’s flirting with him and then he’s kind of flirting with Deeks. Of course, Kensi has a crush on DiNozzo, so it plays out well.
Entertainment Weekly posted this question and answer about Weatherly’s guest spot last month:
Is there anything you can tease about the NCIS–NCIS: LA crossover? — Harold
Slated to air Monday, Oct. 19, Tony DiNozzo’s trip to Los Angeles will be quite comedic, according to Michael Weatherly. “There’s a hilarious conceit for my presence which is that this guy who is a witness to some scurrilous wrongdoing is being brought back from Singapore,” the actor tells me. “He disappears and we have to find him in L.A. He keeps disappearing.”
Weatherly is on the cover of the October 12-25 edition of TV Guide Magazine, and you can read the full interview here. “We’ve been trying for years to find a way to get DiNozzo on the show that’s not just a cameo,” NCIS: LA Executive Producer Shane Brennan said. “We wanted Tony to really be part of the story.” Check out this excerpt from Weatherly’s interview about the crossover:
What was it like to be on another set?
To be honest, I was a little nervous about going into NCIS: Los Angeles because I wasn’t sure how DiNozzo would be received—not just by the team, but by the audience. Would he mesh with them? Look, I’m the same age as LL Cool J and I think we were the oldest guys on set next to Miguel Ferrer! But that’s the funny thing. Rather than having to play a faux youth like on NCIS, I was playing a little creaky on NCIS: L.A. And I enjoyed that Eric and Daniela were all really athletic and beautiful around me. [Laughs] It was just really refreshing. I felt like “Oh, s–t, am I aging out of the game?” Which I realized is totally a DiNozzo paranoia.
