‘Kidnapping 2.0’ Official Details, Plus What’s On This Week

Here is the cast list and official details for the premiere episode of CSI: Cyber, plus what’s on Criminal Minds. (NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS, NCIS: New Orleans and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will air repeats, including “World CSI Day”.)

NCIS: Los Angeles will re-air the season six premiere, “Deep Trouble, Part 2”, tonight at 9:59pm ET/PT. Here’s the episode synopsis (more information here):

Callen and Sam are trapped in an armed submarine that terrorists have aimed to hit an aircraft carrier in San Diego. Meanwhile, Hetty defies orders and forgoes her trip to Washington, as the team tries to locate and save Callen and Sam and prevent the terrorist attack.


NCIS will air a repeat of “The San Dominick” on Tuesday at 8:00pm ET/PT. Here’s the episode description (more information here):

During a joint Coast Guard and NCIS training exercise at sea, Gibbs and CGIS Agent Borin spot a deceased man overboard, who is discovered to be a missing crew member from a ship 60 nautical miles away. Upon boarding the ship for questioning, Gibbs finds himself on a vessel that has been commandeered by pirates.


NCIS: NOLA will follow with another repeat from 9:00-10:01pm ET/PT on Tuesday. Here’s the episode description for “Love Hurts” (more information here):

The NCIS team investigates the murder of a Petty Officer found in a Mardi Gras float storage facility with an engagement ring and proposal plan in hand. However, the case takes a mysterious turn when the team is unable to locate his supposed long-term girlfriend.


On Wednesday, CBS will air the CSI episode “Kitty” at a special time, 7:00pm EST. As CSI Files previously reported, this is part of “World CSI Day”, an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for “Largest Ever TV Drama Simulcast”. “Kitty” is the backdoor pilot for CSI: Cyber, which debuts later that night. Criminal Minds offers “Lockdown” at 9:00pm ET/PT on Wednesday. Here’s the episode description (more information here):

Following Criminal Minds, CBS launches the new series CSI: Cyber with “Kidnapping 2.0” at 10:00pm ET/PT. First, check out the episode promo below:

Special agent Avery Ryan and her team of FBI cyber analysts investigate a case of hacked baby monitors.

The premiere was directed by Eagle Egilsson. He was a Co-Producer and Director of Photography on CSI: Miami, and he helmed eight episodes of that series, most recently “Down to the Wire” during season six; Egilsson also has four directing credits for CSI, including Cyber’s backdoor pilot, “Kitty”. “Kidnapping 2.0” was written by series creators and Executive Producers Carol Mendelsohn, Ann Donahue and Anthony Zuiker. Mendelsohn has 52 writing credits for CSI, most recently for “Kitty”, and she also co-wrote the backdoor pilot for CSI: New York, “MIA/NYC Nonstop”, with Donahue and Zuiker. Donahue has penned 19 CSI episodes, including “Kitty”; she has 12 writing credits for Miami, most recently season five’s “Born to Kill”, and she co-wrote the New York half of a crossover with Miami, “Manhattan Manhunt”. Zuiker has written 32 episodes of CSI (“Kitty”), nine episodes of CSI: NY (“All Access”), and two episodes of Miami (“Felony Flight”).

Michael Irby plays the show’s medical examiner, Dr Ortega. Susan May Pratt appeared in two episodes of CSI (“Eleven Angry Jurors”, “Altered Stakes”), and Jake Richardson was in “Bad Blood” during season fifteen. Kenneth Mitchell has guest-starred on CSI (“Risky Business Class”) and Miami (“Deviant”). Brady Smith has also been on CSI (“Irradiator”) and Miami (“Cop Killer”). Marco Martinez appeared in the Miami episode “Going, Going, Gone” during the show’s fifth season. The other actors are new to the franchise.
