CSI: Miami’s future is not set in stone, but actress Eva La Rue (Natalia Boa Vista) has joined an untitled ABC comedy pilot starring Mandy Moore. According to the Hollywood Reporter, if the pilot gets picked up, La Rue has an option to continue as a series regular.
The pilot centers around Annie (Moore), a young woman who moves back to her hometown with her new husband Ben (Nelson Franklin). The move allows the couple to run a hip restaurant, and it also brings them closer to Annie’s high-maintenance family. Annie’s parents will be played by Stockard Channing and Kurt Fuller, and the family includes younger brother Zach (Mike Castle), recently divorced sister Sarah (Majandra Delfino) and sister Kate (Erinn Hayes). Kate is a lesbian and new mother, and La Rue has been cast as her partner Veronica.
