Former Prisoners Become ‘A Few Dead Men’ On ‘Miami’

3 min read

Three men are released from prison, and the team must figure out who is killing them one by one in the ninth episode of CSI: Miami’s tenth season. (Major spoilers after the jump!)

According to CSI Files sources, “A Few Dead Men” opens on a rural area of Florida in 1991. Frank Tripp is 20 years younger and a lot less jaded, and he heads out in his police cruiser to respond to a call. He drives down a dirt road through a forested area, stopping when he reaches a clearing surrounded by tall pine trees.

One of the trees has thick twine wrapped around the trunk, and Frank moves closer—and immediately rushes back toward the cruiser, vomiting next to the car. The body of 14-year-old Troy Faber is tied to the tree. Tears and blood are dried on his cheeks, and his body is riddled with stab wounds.

Three 18-year-old boys are arrested for the crime. Darren, Rocco and Victor were seen in the area where Troy was killed, and they are found guilty of murder. These star athletes are sentenced to life in prison. Spectators celebrate in the courtroom as news teams look on. It would seem that justice has been served.

Fast forward to 2011, and news teams are once again watching as Victor, Rocco and Darren are released from prison. A beautiful folk singer, Kayla, is standing at a podium. She helped campaign for the release of these men, claiming they were wrongfully convicted of Troy’s murder. The trio used an Alford Plea during their retrial, and now they have been released on time served. They’re ready to enjoy their newfound freedom after spending 20 years in jail.

A group of protestors approaches the press conference, carrying signs and chanting that these three men should be sent back to jail for the murder they committed. In the lead are Troy’s parents, Bruce and Candice. Bruce is angry. These men killed his son, and now they’re going to party with celebrities. He breaks a reporter’s tape recorder, and he pushes a uniformed officer away when he tries to get the grieving father to calm down. That shove serves as a catalyst, and the protestors wind up scuffling with the police. Kayla hurries the released prisoners down the stairs and into a waiting limo.

While Bruce Faber is handcuffed and arrested, Rocco, Darren and Victor head to a party at Kayla’s mansion. Darren and Victor are marveling over all of the new technological gadgets they haven’t been exposed to in jail, and Rocco knocks back a drink and pulls Kayla close to him. She offers him his first kiss as a free man. However, the group’s euphoria doesn’t last long. Later that day, Rocco is found dead in the mansion after being stabbed repeatedly in the bathroom.

Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The above information comes from early script drafts and the details of the episodes are liable to change before the episodes are shown.

“A Few Dead Men” is expected to air November 20 on CBS.
