CBS Reveals Details About Danson’s New ‘CSI’ Character

1 min read

As CSI Files previously reported, Ted Danson will join the cast of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation when the twelfth season begins this fall. The network has now released information about the newest addition to the Las Vegas Crime Lab, along with details regarding several other characters. (Minor spoilers after the jump!)

Danson’s character is named D.B. Russell, and an official CBS press release offers the following information about him:

D.B. Russell, the new CSI Supervisor for the grave shift, comes to the team after heading the Seattle Crime Lab. He’s a family man and scientist, but not a nerd. Son of hippie parents, he’s a “Left Coast” Sherlock Holmes who devours crime novels and looks at every crime scene as if it were a story waiting to be told.

The release describes Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) as “the team’s former supervisor”, although there are no further details about why she is no longer in charge. CBS also offered a bit more information about newcomer Morgan Brody (Elisabeth Harnois), the CSI the team met in “Cello and Goodbye” at the end of season eleven:

…Morgan Brody, an exile from the Los Angeles Crime Lab and the daughter of Undersheriff [Conrad] Ecklie [Marc Vann]. She’s a natural born investigator who still has a lot to learn about politics and family.
