The flagship series is preempted this week, but the spinoffs offer a case that’s out of this world and murder in the fast lane. Official plot details and cast lists after the jump.

Starting out the week on Monday at 10:00pm ET/PT, CSI: Miami takes a visit to the final frontier in “Miami, We Have A Problem”:

The CSIs solve the murder of a man who was killed in outer space.

Sam Hill has directed 22 previous episodes of Miami, including “Show Stopper” earlier this season. Brian Davidson has 15 writing credits for the show, most recently for this season’s “Bad Seed”.

The following guest stars will appear in the episode:

  • Christian Clemenson as Tom Loman
  • Christopher Redman as Michael Travers
  • Flex Alexander as Beau Lendell
  • Ted King as Sam Gardner
  • Clare Carey as Janet Gardner
  • Thad Luckinbill as Dominic Cross
  • David Chisum as Keith Palmer
  • Giancarlo Carmona as Neal
  • Dilshad Vadsaria as Jody
  • Mike Foy as Kurt
  • Granville Ames as Ross

Christian Clemenson and Christopher Redman are reprising established recurring roles. Flex Alexander played a different character in season six’s “Deep Freeze”. Thad Luckinbill has appeared on CSI: New York (“Pay Up”) and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (“Bang Bang”). David Chisum was in the New York episode “The Party’s Over” during the show’s fifth season. The other actors are new to the franchise.

On Wednesday at 10:00pm ET/PT, CSI: New York checks out life on the fast track during “The Formula”:

Two days before a Grand Prix Race, when a racing legend dies in a car explosion on the streets of Manhattan, the CSIs discover that car tampering is the cause; however, the investigation leads viewers through the professional racing community and beyond.

Matt Earl Beesley has helmed four previous episodes of the show, including this season’s “Manhattanhenge”. Aaron Rahsaan Thomas wrote “Cuckoo’s Nest” earlier this season.

“The Formula” will feature the following guest stars:

  • Danica Patrick as Liza Gray
  • Antonio Sabato Jr as Davi Santos
  • Marisa Ramirez as Tania Santos
  • Kevin Kilner as Dwight Bernard
  • Timothy V Murphy as Connor Wells
  • Erik Eidem as Reece Turnball
  • Rick Peters as Josh Weaver

Race car driver Danica Patrick will make her acting debut in the episode alongside Antonio Sabato Jr, as CSI Files previously reported. Rick Peters guest-starred on CSI (“Scuba Doobie Doo”) as well as Miami (“Killer Date”). Kevin Kilner was in the Miami episode “Just One Kiss” during the show’s first season, Marisa Ramirez was in “Hurricane Anthony” during season two, and Erik Eidem was in season five’s “Backstabbers”.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation won’t air on Thursday. In its place, CBS will air the two hour premiere of Survivor: Heroes and Villains from 8:00-10:00pm ET/PT.

“Miami, We Have A Problem” and “The Formula” begin airing February 8 on CBS.
