CBS recently released information for this week's instalments of CSI: Miami and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Synopses, creative staff and guest cast listings for CSI: Miami's "Hurricane Anthony" and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's "Jackpot" are available courtesy of TV Guide and Yahoo! TV.

"Hurricane Anthony"

Airdate: November 3, 2003
Written by: Ildy Modrovich & Laurence Walsh
Directed by: Joe Chappelle

Ildy Modrovich and Laurence Walsh penned season one's 75-minute season finale, "Body Count". Their other episodes include "Broken" and "Dispo Day". Joe Chapelle is a regular face behind the camera on CSI: Miami; earlier this season he directed "Dead Zone".

Here's what TV Guide has to say about the episode:

Perhaps CSI: Miami's writers got the idea for tonight's slam-bang episode when Hurricane Isabel ripped across the Eastern U.S. in September. But whether their inspiration was that storm or not, they've come up with some real puzzles that should test the wits of armchair detectives who try to solve the cases along with the CSIs. There are three suspicious deaths in a neighborhood after a hurricane roars through: a man who was apparently thrown through the air into a moving car; a second man who was impaled on a backyard fence and a woman discovered shot in her bedroom.

The guest cast for "Hurricane Anthony" includes the following actors (previous credits are included in brackets):

  • Sofia Milos as Detective Yelina Salas
  • Rex Linn as Detective Frank Tripp
  • Brian Poth as Tyler Jenson
  • Boti Bliss as Valera
  • Raymond Cruz (Miguel Delgado in "Play With Fire")
  • Marisa Ramirez (General Hospital, Miracles)
  • Rene Lavan (One Life To Live)
  • Tanja Reichert (Relic Hunter, Scary Movie)
  • Dylan Bruno (The Rage: Carrie 2)
  • Mark Pellegrino (Mulholland Drive)
  • Nicole Randall (The Scorpion King)
  • Perrey Reeves (Linda's neighbour in "Recipe For Murder")

"Jackpot"

Airdate: November 6, 2003
Written by: Naren Shankar & Carol Mendelsohn
Directed by: Danny Cannon

Naren Shankar is a CSI co-executive producer while Carol Mendelsohn serves as executive producer and showrunner. They both worked on last season's 90-minute special, "Lady Heather's Box". Danny Cannon serves as executive producer of CSI and has directed numerous episodes, including the "Pilot".

The official synopsis for "Jackpot" can be found below:

Grissom visits a small Nevada town to investigate the death of a man whose severed head was found by a dog in some nearby woods; and Catherine receives an unexpected and unwelcome gift from her dad, which prompts her to visit him.

The episode features the following guest actors:

  • Scott Wilson as Sam Braun ("Burked", "Inside The Box", "Assume Nothing")
  • Jeffrey Combs as Dr. Dale Sterling (Re-Animator, Star Trek: Enterprise)
  • Victoria Reiniger (Judy in "Blood Lust")
  • Henry Czerny (Mission: Impossible, The Ice Storm)
  • Cameron Dye (Smallville, ER)
  • Michael Bowen (Kill Bill: Volume 1)
  • Brandon Beemer (Undressed)
  • Wallace Langham as David Hodges
  • Romy Rosemont as Jacqui Franco
  • David Berman as David Phillips
  • Nathan Wetherington (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit)
  • Alyson Reed (Providence, Party of Five)
  • Christina Carlisi (Six Feet Under, NYPD Blue)
  • Roger Hewlett (The X-Files)

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
