‘Homecoming’ & ‘Near Death’ Official Details

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: New York air their season finales this week, featuring the return of an old nemesis and a leading man in limbo. Official plot details and cast lists can be found after the jump.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation rounds out season twelve with “Homecoming” on Wednesday at 10:00pm ET/PT:

The CSI team investigates three dead bodies just blocks away from a campaign dinner, they think they know who the killer is before making a shocking discovery.

Director and Producer Alec Smight has 27 previous credits for the series, including “Malice in Wonderland” earlier this year. The teleplay for “Homecoming” was written by Executive Story Editor Christopher Barbour and Executive Producer Don McGill, based on a story by Barbour and actor/Set Technical Consultant Larry M Mitchell (Officer Mitchell). This is the tenth credit for Barbour (“Seeing Red”), McGill penned four previous episodes (“Willows in the Wind”), and Mitchell has one writing credit for the series (“Tell-Tale Hearts”).

Marc Vann and Barbara Eve Harris are reprising established recurring roles. Jaclyn Smith was first introduced as David Hodges’ (Wallace Langham) mother Olivia in “Malice in Wonderland”. Conor O’Farrell returns as former Undersheriff Jeffrey McKeen, who was last seen in the season nine premiere, “For Warrick”. Enrique Murciano was in last month’s “Altered Stakes”, where he reprised his role as Detective Carlos Moreno. Peri Gilpin is making her first appearance in a planned recurring role as DB Russell’s (Ted Danson) wife Barbara, and Brooke Nevin and Mia Hayes are playing his daughter and granddaughter, respectively. Jeremy Glazer was in the CSI: New York episode “Do or Die” during the show’s seventh season, Mike Starr guest-starred in “The Dove Commission” during season one, and Peter Onorati appeared in season two’s “Zoo York”. The other actors are new to the franchise.

On Friday, the eighth season of CSI: New York comes to an end at 9:00pm ET/PT when the crime drama airs “Near Death”:

When Mac is shot, he finds himself in limbo between life and death and, as he fights for his life, it’s up to his team to bring the shooter to justice.

Alex Zakrzewski has directed eight previous episodes of CSI: NY, most recently “Keep It Real” from the beginning of the season. “Near Death” was co-written by Executive Producers Zachary Reiter and Pam Veasey. Reiter has 25 credits, including this season’s “Means to an End”; Veasey has 35 credits, most recently “Flash Pop” from earlier this year.

Megan Dodds is back as Mac Taylor’s (Gary Sinise) girlfriend Christine Whitney, who was last seen in the previous episode, “Unwrapped”. Jaime Ray Newman is reprising her role as Mac’s late wife Claire, whom fans first saw in the season premiere, “Indelible”. Will Rothhaar has appeared on CSI (“World’s End”) as well as CSI: Miami (“Countermeasures”). Brad Carter guest-starred in the CSI episodes “19 Down” and “One to Go” during season nine. Brendan Ford was in the season six episode of Miami titled “To Kill A Predator”.

CSI: Miami is still not on the schedule. Instead, CBS will air the Survivor: One World Reunion special live on Sunday at 10:00pm ET.

“Homecoming” and “Near Death” begin airing May 9 on CBS.
