"Homefront" and "Help Wanted" sneak peeks

NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans have new episodes on the schedule from 8:00-10:00pm ET/PT tonight. You can find sneak peeks, quotes, tweets and photos below!

Here’s the first clip from the NCIS episode “Homefront”, featuring Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette), Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Timothy McGee (Sean Murray). (You can also find it on CBS.com, CBS Press Express and SpoilerTV.)

Scene number two features McGee and guest star Benjamin Stockham (Henry Marshall). (It’s also available on CBS.com, CBS Press Express and SpoilerTV.)

Check out sneak peek number three below, featuring Gibbs, McGee and Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham). (You can also watch it on CBS.com, CBS Press Express and SpoilerTV.)

And here’s clip number four, which features Gibbs, Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) and guest star Stephen Oyoung (Navy Captain Andrew Hubbard). (It can also be found on CBS.com, CBS Press Express and SpoilerTV.)

CBS announced last month that First Lady Michelle Obama would appear in tonight’s episode to promote “Joining Forces”, a nationwide initiative supporting service members, veterans and their families. Gibbs and a Marine’s wife are invited to attend a roundtable with military spouses—each of whom is portrayed by a real-life military spouse. Here’s a quote from Executive Producer Gary Glasberg:

Filming inside the White House was a dream come true for the NCIS cast and crew. It was such a pleasure working with First Lady Michelle Obama and it’s our honor to support the “Joining Forces” initiative and the military families that benefit from it.

Glasberg told TV Line that the First Lady was “fantastic” to work with, and he explained to E! Online that the guest appearance came about because the writers pitched an idea to reference “Joining Forces” in an episode. “Whenever we can do a story that supports and explains the difficulties that our military families, we embrace it and we want people to understand,” Glasberg said. “This was natural for us.” Here’s another quote from Glasberg, about NCIS being invited to film at the White House with the First Lady:

The next thing we knew we started to plan a trip. We are the first film production outside of a news organization to film in the White House. The West Wing filmed outside, other shows have filmed outside, but we actually went in and had an extraordinary day filming this scene. She was just wonderful and welcoming and I can’t thank her enough for what she did for our crew. And then we did a couple of scenes outside the White House as well.

TV Line posted this question and answer last month:

How did it come about for Michelle Obama to make an appearance on NCIS? Was this something specially written for her?—Ozarkat

NCIS boss Gary Glasberg told me that he and his team were already aware of FLOTUS’ Joining Forces initiative when “the opportunity came up to do a storyline that sort of spoke to it and what they offer. And when we started to talk about it, because of the First Lady’s significant involvement, they wanted to participate.” Interstingly, the original plan was for Obama to visit the show’s set, but when scheduling issues got in the way, “To quote what was said to me, they asked, ‘Would you like to come and film in their house?’ which was fantastic,” in part because no other filmed TV production had ever set up shop inside 1600 Penn. “This was never done before,” says Glasberg, “so it was a dream for many of us.”

Mrs Obama did an interview with Extra, including a reference to her appearance on NCIS and working with Mark Harmon. “We had a scene together and he was phenomenal, very welcoming, made me feel comfortable on the set,” she said. Here’s a video (skip to 1:40):

TV Line revealed that “Homefront” will feature a guest appearance from Reiko Aylesworth (24). She plays Anne Marshall, the wife of a deployed Marine Master Sergeant, whose 14-year-old son stops a home invasion. She is the Marine’s wife who attends the roundtable with Gibbs, as mentioned above.

The first sneak peek from the NCIS: NOLA episode “Help Wanted” can be watched here. It features guest stars Gary Clark, Jr (Street Musician) and Melanie Merkosky (Navy Culinary Specialist Danielle Jarrett).

Scene number two features Sonja Percy (Shalita Grant), the street musician and Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula). (You can also find it on CBS.com and CBS Press Express.)

And here’s clip number three, which features Pride, Christopher LaSalle (Lucas Black) and Percy. (It’s also available on CBS.com, CBS Press Express and SpoilerTV.)

Sneak peek number four features Sebastian Lund (Rob Kerkovich) and Pride. You can watch it here, or follow the link in the introductory video below with Kerkovich:

According to TV Guide, Meredith Brody (Zoe McLellan) will meet a new love interest in tonight’s episode. John Russo (Ivan Sergei) is a Homeland Security agent, and he helps Brody with the Navy lieutenant leak case revealed at the end of the previous episode, “Collateral Damage”. Russo, however, may be hiding something.

McLellan previously spoke to TV Guide about her character being in “unique situations” and getting “a little reckless” now that her sister’s murder has been solved and she’s trying to find herself. Part of that involves meeting Agent Russo, whom she referred to as a “romantic interest.” She added, “I don’t know if it’s love, but it’s romance for sure.”
