As CSI Files previously reported, today marks the first day of shooting for the series finale of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The two-hour TV movie is divided up into two episodes, titled “Immortality, Part 1” and “Immortality, Part 2”. CSI creator (and finale writer) Anthony Zuiker previously described the finale as “a love letter to the fans.” He also said there is “a complicated and rich case that brings all of our people back together, and has a very satisfactory conclusion that life will go on.”

Original leads Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) and William Petersen (Gil Grissom) are back for the finale, along with former star Paul Guilfoyle (Jim Brass). George Eads (Nick Stokes) and Elisabeth Shue (Julie Finlay) will not appear in the series-ending storyline, but Melinda Clarke is set to reprise her role as the infamous Lady Heather. Catherine’s daughter Lindsey will be back as well, although she will now be played by Katie Stevens.

You can find a set of tweets below, including comments and photos from Zuiker, Helgenberger, Jon Wellner (Henry Andrews) and Line Producer Frank Waldeck. There’s also a tweet from Lauri Metrose, the Senior Vice President of Communications at CBS Television Studios. When CSI launched, Metrose was the Manager of Publicity for CBS Entertainment.
