CBS Plans Another ‘Criminal Minds’ Spinoff

Following the success of NCIS: New Orleans, and with CSI: Cyber set to premiere in March, CBS is taking a second shot at turning Criminal Minds into a successful franchise. (Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior lasted for 13 episodes in 2011, before being cancelled.) The potential spinoff will be introduced as a backdoor pilot later this season, with Executive Producer Erica Messer penning the episode to be filmed in February. The spinoff will follow a different division of the FBI, which works to help American citizens who find themselves in trouble while abroad.
