Former ER actress Sherry Stringfield will appear in an upcoming episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. (Spoilers after the jump!)
According to TV Line, Stringfield will play Dawn, “a likable, blue-collar swing shift CSI” who is trying to “manage her son’s addiction issues” in her off time. Dawn works with Morgan Brody (Elisabeth Harnois) on a case involving a serial rapist, and her episode airs later this fall.
Stringfield’s character is most likely the swing shift CSI that will be introduced in episode eight, “Helpless”, as revealed in the recent CSI Files report about season 14. This is in addition to Matt Davis’ upcoming recurring role as a day shift CSI, who is introduced in episode six, “Passed Pawns”. “In the past you would see other techs linger about the lab [and] we want to show that there are other people working in a very big lab,” a source told the site, so moving forward “we want to interact with that more.”
