Eads Takes Leave of Absence From ‘CSI’

1 min read

George Eads (Nick Stokes) will not appear in part of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’s upcoming fourteenth season. (Minor spoilers after the jump.)

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Eads got into an argument with one of CSI’s writers over the creative direction of his character. The actor allegedly threatened to quit the long-running series, but the studio has confirmed that Eads will be back later in the season. Nick will appear in the first three episodes of season 14, and his absence will be explained in episode four when it is revealed that Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) has chosen him to receive special training at Quantico. There is no official word on how long Eads will be gone, but a rep for CBS TV Studios told the Hollywood Reporter, “George Eads will not appear in several episodes during the first half of the season. We look forward to him returning to CSI very soon.”

  1. Why don’t they release the name of the “pregnant writer”? If they’re gonna dog out Eads, they should dog her out too. It’s probably the same writer who completely forgot about Sara Sidle’s character having a brother and then making up some stupid excuse about it. I’ve been watching this show since it started and put up with a lot of crap, ie: characters leaving/ being killed off, bringing on characters that are ridiculous just for ratings, etc. But this is the last straw. I’m done. Screw you, Mendelsohn. Protect your frickin characters, not your whiny writers.

  2. I second this comment. Will TPTB have the “balls” to apologize and bring George back.. bet not. I generally have no problem with changes but there have been too many bad ones crammed down our (the viewing public) throats. Too bad we the fans can’t impeach a showrunner.

  3. He better not leave or else I will stop watching the show I almost did when Nick said he was going to quit at the end of season 12 thank god he came back for season 13
