Sinise Presents At The American Giving Awards

The second annual American Giving Awards (AGAs) Presented by Chase will be broadcast on NBC on Saturday, December 8 from 8:00-10:00pm ET. The AGAs recognize local heroes for their charity work, and CSI: New York’s leading man Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) will be one of the presenters at the event. Other presenters include Anthony Anderson (Guys with Kids), Miss USA 2012 Olivia Culpo, Jenna Elfman (1600 Penn), Jenna Fischer (The Office) and Jamie-Lynn Sigler (Guys with Kids). The programme will also feature performances by Colbie Caillat, Lifehouse with Natasha Bedingfield, and Darius Rucker.

Actress Glenn Close will be honoured with the AGA Leadership Award for her work to end the stigma and prejudice surrounding mental illness through the BringChange2Mind organization. In addition to this award, viewers can help other worthy charities by visiting the official website before 11:59pm ET on Tuesday, December 4. There are 25 participating charities split up into five categories, and viewers can vote for their favorites. According to a press release, “The organization with the most votes will receive a $1 million grant, the runner-up will be granted $500,000, a third organization will receive a $250,000 grant, and two will be given $125,000 grants.”
