‘CSI:NY’ Investigates A Deadly Game In ‘Brooklyn Til I Die’

3 min read

A young woman is found dead in an alley, and the team must find her missing companion before he becomes a second victim in the twelfth episode of CSI: New York’s eighth season. (Major spoilers after the jump!)

According to CSI Files sources, “Brooklyn Til I Die” opens in a private playing room in Manhattan. Elegant people look on while a seemingly-drunk young man, William, plays baccarat with a dangerous fellow who has a bodyguard standing nearby. The inebriation is just a ruse, however, and William looks over at a lovely woman sitting nearby. Michelle lifts a tube of lipstick to her mouth, taking photographs of the dangerous man, Orson, and his bodyguard with the camera hidden inside the tube.

Orson is not pleased when he loses to William. The young man picks up his chips and suggests that it is time to leave, but Orson takes a gun from his bodyguard and places it on the table. He wants a chance to win his money back. Things are getting tense, and Michelle reaches slowly for a gun holstered to her thigh as she waits to see what her companion will do. William smiles—and throws the chips up in the air, making his escape with Michelle while the other people in the room scramble to pick them up.

William and Michelle stop in an alleyway to kiss, but they notice two men standing in the distance. Michelle reaches for her gun, but instead she is shot and killed. When the police arrive, William is nowhere to be found. They look through the photographs on the lipstick camera and find images of Orson, and Mac and Flack are able to retrace William and Michelle’s steps to the private playing room. Orson is dismissive of the officers until he realizes they mean business. He thought it was all part of a game.

“Orson”, whose real name is Lonnie, is a taxi driver and actor. He’s part of a roleplaying game where teams of two take on personas and complete a scavenger hunt around the city. William and Michelle were one of the teams, and Lonnie assumed that Mac and Flack were a team as well. The goal of this round of the game was to get surveillance photographs of Lonnie’s character, who is a “crime boss”. Lonnie didn’t really have a problem with the victim or her companion, he was simply playing his part.

When the team contacts the company in charge of the game, they make a startling discovery. William is the son of one of the wealthiest men in New York, and he has been kidnapped. The kidnappers want a hefty ransom in exchange for William, and they send the man’s father proof that they mean business: William’s severed finger.

Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The above information comes from early script drafts and the details of the episodes are liable to change before the episodes are shown.

“Brooklyn Til I Die” is expected to air February 3 on CBS.
