The ‘CSI:NY’ Premiere Gives Mac Some Closure

1 min read

As CSI Files previously reported, the season eight premiere of CSI: New York will deal with the tenth anniversary of September 11th. The subject matter is very personal for leading man Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise), and the episode offers him a chance to move on. (Spoilers after the jump!)

Mac’s wife Claire died on 9/11, and Jaime Ray Newman will portray the character in flashbacks. By the time the powerful hour is over, Mac’s emotional journey will help him move forward. “You’ll feel—you’ll know—that he derives a certain amount of closure, including from a special act that he makes at the end of that day,” executive producer Zack Reiter told TV Line. “I hope we are able to convey that he’s able to move on in many ways… and hopefully in a way that allows him to open up and have a relationship that is more meaningful than maybe some of the past ones he has had.”
