Ward Gets Emotional Talking About ‘New York’

1 min read

Sela Ward (Jo Danville) shares a bit about her storyline in this week’s episode of CSI: New York, “Identity Crisis”, and how she brings humor to the set. (Minor spoilers and embedded video after the jump!)

Jo adopted Ellie (Sydney Park) when she was two years old so the girl wouldn’t go into the foster care system. In “Identity Crisis”, Ellie plans to visit her biological mother in jail. “She says ultimately, ‘You know, what I was really thinking about as I was on the train heading to go see my mama was: I wanna know what I’m gonna look like when I grow up because I’m not gonna look like you,'” Ward told the Associated Press. She added, “It makes me cry. Can you imagine?”

Ward has a great time on the New York set, and she says she likes to bring humor to the show. “It’s just a damn serious show,” the actress said. “I went, ‘You people just don’t laugh enough.’ I’ve even gotten Gary [Sinise, Mac Taylor] laughing.”
