Catherine's relationship with Sam Braun will reportedly take centre stage in the key May sweeps episode, "Who's Your Daddy?"

The episode opens in a holding room where a fat man is being interrogated by a couple of unseen thugs, according to CSI Files sources. Next thing we know, Grissoma and Catherine are approaching his dead body, which was found amongst a pile of decaying neon signs from Vegas' old casinos. Only he's not an overweight thug, but a college kid named Tony Keller who was wearing a fat suit.

Tony had been playing with fire, trying to fleece Sam Braun's casinos using high-tech electronic equipment with his partners. When questioned by Brass, Sam says he did speak with Tony on the night of his death, but let him go after a good talking-to, nothing more. Grissom conducts the forensic analysis of the premises, with Sam looking over his shoulders. They don't hide their obvious distaste for each other, especially when Sam baits Grissom by asking whether he hates him because they couldn't convict him ("Inside The Box", "Assume Nothing") or that Catherine took his money in "Early Rollout".

Brass and Warrick investigate Tony's apartment, where he lived with his room-mate Seth, who was also in on the scam, along with a third man, Davis. The threesome had an elaborate roulette set-up in the apartment in order to practice their sting. When questioned, Seth says they'd been hitting Sam Braun's casinos because they could operate their electronic devices to rig the games better there due to Braun's old-school, low-tech set-up.

Seth says that when Tony started winning big, Sam's goons took him away for questioning in a holding cell, together with the money they'd won that night. Tony emerged from his roughing-up with the money, but was then invited to ride in a limo with Sam, according to Seth. Later that night Tony ended up dead in the neon sign graveyard.

As the case progresses, Catherine's relationship with the other CSIs starts to show signs of strain. She's removed from the case owing to a conflict of interest, and Grissom, mindful of how she used material evidence for her own purposes in "Inside the Box", begins to review some of her other cases. The CSIs soon have enough evidence to arrest Sam...but will he stay behind bars this time?

Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The above information comes from an early draft of the script and details may change before the episode goes to air.

"Who's Your Daddy?" will likely air in May, 2004.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
