  • "Speed Kills" helped CSI: Miami win the title of most-watched show on Monday night. According to Variety, the episode was watched by 22.2 million viewers, beating ABC's Monday Night Football and the NBC flop The $25 Million Hoax. Another strong performer for CBS was the 200th episode of Everybody Loves Raymond, which attracted 18 million viewers.

  • The Mac Observer is reporting that the port of the original CSI: Crime Scene Investigation for the Apple Macintosh computer has "gone gold" (sent off for reproduction) and will begin shipping on the 29th of November. The game can already be pre-ordered through Amazon.

  • The New York Post's gossip reporter Michael Starr writes about the torrential downpour that the CSI: New York cast and crew found themselves in while filming tomorrow night's "Rain". "On their way out of Central Park, near the Plaza Hotel, they walked right into a po lice terrorist drill — and, with the NYPD's permission, the show's cameras began filming, with the idea of in corporating this into the show."   • Good news for The Who fan Jerry Bruckheimer: According to an article in today's edition of the Wichita Eagle, Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey are planning to reunite to record what is tentatively titled Who2 - the group's first studio album in over two decades. Looks like CSI's theme song needs will be covered for at least a dozen more spin-offs.

  • Adam Buckman at the New York Post examines the question whether new hit show Desperate Housewives will be able to overtake CSI as the nation's most-watched show. The answer: not likely, but it will probably capture a spot in the top five, and possibly move ahead of CSI: Miami in the weekly ratings race.

  • CSI is fueling interest in forensic degree courses beyond the United States: according to the Scotsman, British students are flocking to the forensic profession as well. . Unfortunately, there is a downside to this phenomenon: many of the 350 new courses established do not meet the demands of the British police, meaning that many students inspired by CSI and its British counterpart Silent Witness may never end up in their chosen field once they graduate.

  • Comedy Central's Daily Show with Jon Stewart is preparing to do a story on the recent CSI: New York interruption by a telecast announcing the death of Yasser Arafat, which lead to CBS News firing a producer (story). Fans who were upset by the interruption can post in this Talk CSI thread, where a Daily Show producer is searching for fans willing to speak with the show.

  • Entertainment Weekly's Ann Hodgman has posted her reviews of the new CSI episodes airing over the past week. She gave CSI: New York's "Outside Man" a B, a rating that could have been higher if she hadn't missed the episode's final three minutes due to the infamous interruption. The original CSI's "Formalities" received an A, just like yesterday's CSI: Miami instalment, "Speed Kills." "Very soon I'm going to be marrying Wolfe," Hodgman warned in her full review, "so hands off, everyone." Thanks go out again to Al Forno!

  • CelebritiyPhoto.com has put up thumbnail previews of the photos they took at the CSI 100th episode celebration party, featuring all the stars and producers. Full-size photos are unfortunately only available to media organisations, so you'll have to wait for them to show up in your local newspaper or entertainment magazine.

  • And as part of their own 100th episode celebration for CSI, New York-based Newsday.com has been updated with five trivia facts about Gil Grissom, such as the fact he was the youngest coroner in the history of Los Angeles County, at 22 years old.

  • Gun manufacturer Smiths & Wesson says it has hired a Hollywood product placement company to get its guns shown in several films and television series in an effort to improve its brand image. One of the shows in which Smiths & Wesson's guns will definitely be appearing is CSI: Miami, in addition to Crossing Jordan, Law & Order, and some films appearing in cinemas next year.
