Hello World!

Remember when Madonna acquired a British accent for no reason? I really think this must be some sort of disease, because if I recall correctly, the Geico gecko was never British.

Of course, I don't remember him saying much, either. I seem to recall him being a good robot dancer. In any case, this bothers me for reasons I can't understand. Why is he British now? What propelled the advertising honchos to give him a new accent? Did they do some research, and found out British advertising icons draw in more costumers? Why is this happening and why do I care so much?

And geckos like warm weather, anyway, so I'm not sure I'd get off a plane in England and run into a bunch of geckos like you would a stray dog or a cat. That makes less sense. I would just make him Cuban or something. Or Dominican. But British? What were they thinking? Now not only is he not funny, I also have no idea what he's saying.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.

Happy Birthday!

Eddie Cahill (Det. Don Flack) and David Caruso (Horatio Caine) both celebrated their birthdays in the first two weeks of January. Happy belated birthday to both from everyone at CSI Files.

This Week On TV

  • Tonight at 10:00pm, CSI: Miami's "Under Suspicion" will air on CBS again. If you missed it the first time, here's how CBS described it:

"The CSIs must race against time when all evidence in a murder case points to Horatio. When a murdered woman is discovered, Horatio admits that he was seeing her and that he was the last person to see her alive. Although the evidence logically points to Horatio as the killer, our CSIs must now dig deeper to find the real killer and learn who would have the motive and the method to frame him."

  • On Wednesday night at 10pm, CBS will air the new CSI: New York episode "Wasted." Here's a brief synopsis:

"Mac, Danny and Dr. Hawkes are puzzled by the death of a model coated only in body paint who collapses on a runway while displaying a designer's spring swimsuit during a fashion show. Mac, Danny and Dr. Hawkes investigate if her death was caused by the product that coated her -- but their case becomes even more complex when a second model is found dead in a cargo area staged outside of the fashion show. Meanwhile, a terminally ill patient walks into the precinct and confesses to the murder of his doctor. Stella, Det. Flack and Lindsay question the suspect's confession when they realize the doctor was moonlighting as an alternative healer."

  • And on Thursday at 9:00pm, the CSI episode everyone has been waiting for, "Daddy's Little Girl" will air again. This is what you can expect from it:

"The CSIs investigate the murder of a young man found dead in his girlfriend's garage after a night of taking drugs and partying. At first, Grissom and his team suspect that the man was murdered by his girlfriend after she discovered him cheating. However, the case takes a surprising twist when the identity of the other woman with whom the young man had been having an affair is revealed."

In addition to the above episodes on CBS, cable channel SpikeTV will of course continue its daily CSI repeats.
