Harper Nominated For NAACP Image Awards

Actor and author Hill Harper (CSI: New York’s Dr Sheldon Hawkes) received two nominations for the upcoming 43rd NAACP Image Awards. He’s up for “Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series” for his role on New York, and his latest book The Wealth Cure is nominated in the “Outstanding Literary Work – Non-Fiction” category. The award ceremony will air February 17 on Fox, and you can find a full list of nominees on the official website.

‘CSI’ Loses People’s Choice Award To ‘Castle’

The nominations have been announced for the People’s Choice Awards 2012, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is one of the shows up for “Favorite TV Crime Drama”. The other nominees in the category are fellow CBS series NCIS and Criminal Minds, along with Castle and Bones. You can vote from now until December 6, and the award ceremony will air live on Wednesday, January 11 from 9:00-11:00pm ET (delayed PT). ‘Miami’ To Be Honoured With SET Award

CSI: Miami is one of the drama honourees for the upcoming SET Awards, which recognize productions for bringing attention to the fields of science, engineering, and technology. “The entertainment industry is magical in reaching within the popular culture, and accurate depictions are key to having young people be entertained and informed about the wonders of science, engineering and technology and how to make the world a better place,” explained Brian Dyak, the President, CEO and Co-Founder of Entertainment Industries Council, Inc, which produces the SET Awards. He added that the submissions this year “are proof positive of the commitment within the creative community to change the perception of SET related fields—making them an entertaining and exciting venture for today’s youth.”

The ceremony will take place on November 17, 2011 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

CSI Files previously reported that the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episode “Fracked” was nominated for an Environmental Media Award. The crime drama was honoured at the award ceremony on Saturday night for the storyline, which dealt with environmental concerns surrounding hydraulic fracturing.

CSI: Miami’s Adam Rodriguez (Eric Delko) won the 2011 ALMA award for “Favorite TV Actor—Leading Role”. The ALMA Awards celebrate the outstanding contributions made by Latinos in the areas of television, film, and music. The awards ceremony will air Friday, September 16 at 8:00pm ET on NBC.

Rodriguez’s costar Eva La Rue (Natalia Boa Vista) was nominated for an ALMA award in the “Favorite TV Actress—Leading Role in a Drama” category, but she lost to fellow CBS star Cote de Pablo (NCIS). As CSI Files reported last month, CSI: Miami actress Eva La Rue (Natalia Boa Vista) was nominated for an Imagen Award in the “Best Supporting Actress/Television” category. The Imagen Awards honor “positive portrayals of Latinos and Latino cultures in entertainment.” La Rue won the award at the ceremony on Friday, August 12.
