‘The CSI Effect’ Official Details, Plus What’s On This Week

Here is the cast list and official details for Sunday’s season premiere of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, plus information about the NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans premieres. (Criminal Minds and NCIS: Los Angeles are not on the schedule, but both will premiere next week.)

NCIS will kick off season 12 with “Twenty Klicks” on Tuesday at 8:00pm ET/PT. Here’s the episode description (more information here):

Gibbs and McGee travel to Russia to safely escort home an NCIS computer engineer connected to classified intel, but their mission is compromised and they are forced to go off the grid while hunted by a Russian mercenary group. Meanwhile, the team in D.C. frantically uses every asset and inter-agency contact they have in an attempt to locate their missing team members.

Following the NCIS season premiere, the new spinoff NCIS: New Orleans will air its series premiere at 9:00pm ET/PT. Here’s the episode description for “Musician Heal Thyself” (more information here):

A case turns personal for Pride when the body of a Petty Officer is identified as a former gang member he once mentored. Meanwhile, Brody continues her search for the perfect place to call home in New Orleans.

Here’s the episode synopsis, followed by the official details:

Finlay must deal with a bomb planted in her car, while Russell gets a call from someone claiming to be the Gig Harbor killer.

The episode was directed by Producer Alec Smight, who has 38 previous credits for the crime drama; he most recently helmed the season 14 finale, “Dead in His Tracks”. Supervising Producer Christopher Barbour and Executive Producer Don McGill co-wrote the episode. Barbour has 17 previous writing credits, including last season’s “Boston Brakes”. McGill’s eight writing credits include the season 14 premiere, “The Devil and DB Russell”.

Marc Vann is back as Sheriff Conrad Ecklie. Brooke Nevin reprises her role as DB’s daughter Maya, who was last seen in the season 13 premiere, “Karma to Burn”. Mark-Paul Gosselaar appears for the first time in a recurring dual role, and Mark Valley is also introduced as a recurring character. Jason Gerhardt previously appeared in season fourteen’s “Under a Cloud”. Paul James guest-starred on CSI: Miami (“Ambush”) and CSI: New York (“Today is Life”). The other actors are new to the franchise.
