Sinise: ‘New York’ To Have Different Flavor

CSI: New York is returning for a brighter, higher, and spicier season two, according to front man Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor).

"The show's going to have a lot different flavor," the actor told the Northwest Herald newspaper. "We've moved our offices into a new building up above the city. There's wide windows all around and the city is much more a part of the show. It's going to show a much different look."

Sinise, who was a stranger to television, wasn't originally attracted to the long-term NY gig. "I wasn't really looking to settle into playing one character over a long period of time," he said. The actor accepted the role, however, for personal reasons. "I thought, 'This is kind of the perfect thing for me right now.' Having a steady job allows me to be at home, be a dad while my kids are teenagers."

Sinise is also the bass player of the cover band Lt. Dan Band. Being on CSI: New York, the actor said, also allows him to tour around the country (and sometimes abroad) with the band. "Acting is what I do for a living, and it's something I love," he said. "But playing music is something I do for fun. It's all fun. It would be hard to give up one for the other."
