The number of new episodes has dwindled down to one.

CSI: Miami aired a repeat of "Bang, Bang, Your Debt" this past Monday at 10:00pm EST, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will air a repeat of "Lying Down With Dogs" on Thursday at 9:00pm EST. With the first two series in full repeat mode as the writers' strike continues, CSI: New York is the only member of the franchise with a new episode to air: "Playing With Matches", which airs tonight at 10:00pm EST:

A drowning victim falls out of a self-cleaning restroom and what first looks like a freak accident turns into foul play and the CSIs must investigate the hows and whys of the case.

This is the fourth episode of New York directed by Christine Moore. Her most recent episode for the show was "Down the Rabbit Hole" earlier this season. "Playing With Matches" was penned by Bill Haynes, who has four previous CSI: NY writing credits to his name. "Comes Around" in season three was Haynes' most recent episode.

The following actors and actresses will guest-star in "Playing With Matches":

  • Robert Joy as Dr Sid Hammerback
  • Emmanuelle Vaugier as Jessica Angell
  • Bess Wohl as Kendall Novack
  • Jason Chambers as Mercury
  • Nicole Lenz as Concrete Cowgirl/Sandra
  • Reid Scott as Seth Riggins
  • Aaron Behr as Vinnie Parson
  • Brad Graiff as Attorney
  • Christopher Bello as John Szabo

Robert Joy, Emmanuelle Vaugier and Bess Wohl are reprising established recurring roles. Nicole Lenz appeared in the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episode "Formalities" during the show's fifth season. Reid Scott was also on the original CSI during season five, guest-starring in "Snakes".

"Playing With Matches" airs February 6 on CBS.
