Official 'Bodies In Motion' Details Revealed

CBS this week revealed the official details of the premiere episode of CSI “Bodies in Motion.”

The Las Vegas crew was last seen working together to try to save Nick Stokes, who was kidnapped and buried alive during the chilling “Grave Danger.” The team ultimately saved their friend’s life, but not without first allowing front man Gil Grissom realize how much he wants his whole team back. It wasn’t just Grissom’s wish, but the fans’ as well, and this season said wish will be granted.

In this anticipated season premiere, the forensic teams come back together under the leadership of Grissom and Catherine just in time to tackle three separate investigations: a murdered couple found in bed in a suspicious trailer explosion; a beautiful stripper discovered dead and dumped in the worst part of town; and two bodies found baked and decomposed after spending five days in the trunk of a car exposed to the hot Vegas sun, forcing the CSIs to "wrap" up the evidence and bring it back to the lab for further analysis. The episode was written by showrunners Carol Mendelsohn and Naren Shankar.

CSI will again see an expansion of the original cast this season. As was reported earlier this year (news), Wallace Langham (David Hodges) will have a more prominent role in the series, and Louise Lombard’s Sophia Curtis, who worked alongside Gil Grissom as a CSI during season 5, will reportedly return to the LVPD as a detective when she grows tired of the lab’s politics.

None might be more excited about the return of CSI, however, than CBS itself. To promote its premiere week, the Eye network will give away one Chevrolet Impala every night starting Monday and ending Friday. During "Bodies In Motion,” fans will be able to spot the Chevrolet logo with instructions on how to enter the sweepstakes to win the car. The contest will first be promoted during CBS’s “sneak peak” show on September 14th.

The season premiere of CSI is also expected to prove a good lead-in for the brand new procedural drama Criminal Minds. The show revolves around an elite team of FBI profilers who analyze the country's most twisted criminal minds, anticipating their next moves before they strike again. Criminal Minds stars Thomas Gibson and Shemar Moore.

“Bodies in Motion” premieres September 22nd at 9/8c, followed by the premiere of Criminal Minds at 10/9c. Visit the Futon Critic to learn more about the premieres.
