{"id":9152,"date":"2010-02-22T20:54:44","date_gmt":"2010-02-23T04:54:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.csifiles.com\/content\/?p=9152"},"modified":"2010-02-22T20:54:44","modified_gmt":"2010-02-23T04:54:44","slug":"zombie-directs-miami-episode-with-more-edge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.csifiles.com\/content\/2010\/02\/zombie-directs-miami-episode-with-more-edge\/","title":{"rendered":"Zombie Directs &#8216;Miami&#8217; Episode With &#8216;More Edge&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When <b>Rob Zombie<\/b> got the opportunity to direct the upcoming <I>CSI: Miami<\/i> episode <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csifiles.com\/episodes\/miami\/season8\/la.shtml\">&#8220;LA&#8221;<\/a>, he was eager to take on the challenge&#8212;and to bring his unique edge to the crime drama. (Slight spoilers after the jump!)<\/p>\n<p>\n<!--more-->Zombie has a friend who works for <i>Miami<\/i>, but the rocker-turned-director&#8217;s schedule never allowed him to work on the series. He recently found time to helm &#8220;LA&#8221;, which was written especially for him by co-executive producer <b>Barry O&#8217;Brien<\/b>. &#8220;I wanted to see what it was like,&#8221; Zombie told <i>NY Daily News<\/i>. &#8220;Other TV offers have come up in the past, but I never really went after them because I wasn&#8217;t sure I really wanted to do TV. It&#8217;s so different from making a movie, because you go into this established situation that sometimes has been going on for years and years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\nThe episode will have a different flavor due to Zombie&#8217;s influence, but <i>Miami<\/i> fans will still recognize the show they love. &#8220;In the opening scene, it&#8217;ll seem obvious [that I was the director],&#8221; Zombie said. &#8220;But I wasn&#8217;t trying to disrespect the show by disregarding anything they&#8217;ve done. I wasn&#8217;t trying to turn it into something different.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\nAs CSI Files previously <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csifiles.com\/content\/2010\/01\/zz-top-guitarist-to-appear-on-miami\/\">reported<\/a>, &#8220;LA&#8221; will feature some big guest stars, including <b>Billy Gibbons<\/b> from <b>ZZ Top<\/b>, <b>Malcolm McDowell<\/b>, <b>Paul Blackthorne<\/b>, <b>William Forsythe<\/b> and <b>Michael Madsen<\/b>. &#8220;Along with bringing his vision,&#8221; O&#8217;Brien explained, &#8220;Rob brought his friends.&#8221; He also brought his wife, <b>Sheri Zombie<\/b>, who will appear in the episode.<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;LA&#8221; finds the team <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csifiles.com\/content\/2010\/01\/zombie-puts-his-bizarre-stamp-on-miami\/\">investigating a murder<\/a> that leads Horatio Caine (<b>David Caruso<\/b>) and Eric Delko (<b>Adam Rodriguez<\/b>) to Los Angeles in an attempt to clear Jesse Cardoza&#8217;s (<b>Eddie Cibrian<\/b>) name when he is accused of tampering with evidence. The case has ties to Jesse&#8217;s past and features the first appearance of Blackthorne in a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csifiles.com\/content\/2010\/02\/blackthorne-signs-on-for-recurring-miami-role\/\">recurring role<\/a> as Bruce Enright.
