Paul Reubens<\/b> will have a four-week run of The Pee-wee Herman Show<\/i> in Los Angeles, California starting in January. However, original cast member Laurence Fishburne<\/b> (Dr Ray Langston) will not appear in the show due to his role on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation<\/i>.<\/p>\n
\nFishburne played Cowboy Curtis in the children’s show Pee-wee’s Playhouse<\/i> for four episodes in 1986 and 1987, as well as a Christmas special that aired in 1988. “(Reubens) is really sweet,” Fishburne said. “I got this call from him; he was like, ‘Fish, I didn’t want you to hear it on the street that I’m doing the show and I had to have a Cowboy Curtis…I’m going to hire another guy to do it.’ He realized that because of my commitment to CSI<\/i>, [it] wasn’t going to allow me to come and do the show.”<\/p>\n
\nAlthough Fishburne won’t be in the live show next year, he’s open to reprising his role as Cowboy Curtis in a Pee-wee<\/i> movie if the opportunity presents itself. “If he can get the money together to make another Pee-Wee movie, I will absolutely suit up, put on the jheri-curl, get the guitar,” he said. “I love him, he’s the real deal.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
