As CSI Files previously reported<\/a>, CSI: New York<\/i> star Melina Kanakaredes<\/b> (Stella Bonasera) will play the goddess Athena in the upcoming film Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief<\/i>. On Wednesday, October 28, Kanakaredes will be on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, California for the premiere of a unique billboard to promote the movie. The “Lightning Billboard” will emit 1.2 million volts of pure lightning using a transformer that was invented 100 years ago by one of the scientists who contributed to the birth of commercial electricity, Nikola Tesla<\/b>.<\/p>\n

\nLightning is a key plot point in Percy Jackson<\/i>. The title character (played by Logan Lerman<\/b>) is the demigod son of Poseidon (Kevin McKidd<\/b>). He is accused of stealing the most powerful weapon in the universe: Zeus’s (Sean Bean<\/b>) lightning bolt. Percy embarks on a journey to find the real thief in order to clear his name and prevent a war among the gods.<\/p>\n

\nFans are invited to attend the lighting of the billboard and meet the cast. A trailer for The Lightning Thief<\/i> can be seen after the jump:<\/p>\n
