As CSI Files previously <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csifiles.com\/content\/2009\/10\/harper-we-all-want-to-help\/\">reported<\/a>, more than 60 television shows will feature volunteering as part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iparticipate.org\/\">iParticipate<\/a> campaign starting on Monday, October 19. Television viewers will then get the chance to take action themselves during Make A Difference Day.<\/p>\n<p>\nAccording to the official website, &#8220;Make A Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others &#8212; a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can participate. Created by <i>USA WEEKEND<\/i> Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October.&#8221; Millions of people have participated in Make A Difference Day for nearly two decades: &#8220;In 2008, 3 million people cared enough about their communities to volunteer on that day, accomplishing thousands of projects in hundreds of towns.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\nHarper learned about helping others as a child.
