CBS shared a press release<\/a> yesterday, confirming that the network will offer alerts about scheduling delays during the Sunday primetime lineup this fall. This is the same system that was used<\/a> in the past to let fans know when NFL games impact the rest of the CBS schedule. Updates will be provided via on-air graphics, a ticker on the CBS.com home page<\/a>, and posts on social media. NCIS: Los Angeles<\/i> will be airing<\/a> on Sundays this season, so its start time will be affected by football delays. The official Twitter account (@NCISLA<\/a>) and Facebook page<\/a> for the show will post updates, along with several network Twitters (@CBSTweet<\/a> and @CBS<\/a>) and CBS’s Facebook page<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nIn addition to the alerts, CBS is also pushing the Sunday primetime schedule back 30 minutes on NFL doubleheader weekends, in order to accommodate expected delays. This only affects the Eastern and Central timezones, however, and the episodes will air on time in the Mountain and Pacific timezones. The eighth season of NCIS: LA<\/i> will premiere<\/a> on Sunday, October 2 at 8:00pm ET\/PT. Doubleheaders are scheduled for October 9 and 23; November 6, 20 and 27; December 18; and January 1, 2017. On those nights, Los Angeles<\/i> will be scheduled to start at 8:30pm ET (7:30pm CT)\/8:00pm PT. Additional delays are possible, and the network will alert fans as necessary using the methods mentioned above. (Please note that the press release does not indicate a later start time for the October 9 episode, which could be an error, or else NCIS: LA<\/i> is not scheduled to air that night.)<\/p>\n
