As CSI Files previously reported<\/a>, Elementary<\/i> will take over the Sunday 10:00pm ET\/PT timeslot starting March 20. This leaves CSI: Cyber<\/i> without a home, and there has been no word from CBS about when and where the remaining episodes of season two will air. CBS Entertainment President Glenn Geller<\/b> offered an explanation for the scheduling shuffle, including the decision to air episodes of Cyber<\/i> following Criminal Minds<\/i> on March 2 and March 9, thus pushing back the premiere of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders<\/i>. Here’s the quote, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly<\/a>:<\/p>\n

We wanted to see it in another time period, which is why we\u2019re giving it a couple special airings on Wednesday. It\u2019s in a tough spot, Sunday nights at 10 is not easy, especially in the fall with football. There\u2019s constant delays. The shows are not always airing on time. We wanted to give it a shot on another night to take a look. Again, it\u2019s January, we don\u2019t have anymore news on the fate of the show.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nCSI<\/i> creator Anthony Zuiker<\/b> recently spoke to the Hollywood Reporter<\/a> about the future of the spinoff, and whether he thinks the end of the franchise is in sight:<\/p>\n

I don’t think so. We’re going to go ahead and do 22 [episodes] as ordered, and then you sit tight in May and see how the schedule shuffles around and you hope to continue. We have the biggest stars in television in terms of Ted Danson<\/b>, Patricia Arquette<\/b> and James Van Der Beek<\/b>; it’s an amazing franchise and a very solid show. Because the future of crime is cyber, there’s no reason why it shouldn’t continue.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nOne character who won’t return if the show receives a third season is DB Russell, since Danson has joined the cast<\/a> of the upcoming NBC comedy Good Place<\/i>. Danson’s exit does not confirm the end of Cyber<\/i>, however, since he only signed a one-year contract to join the crime drama following the cancellation of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation<\/i> last year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
