As CSI Files previously reported<\/a>, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation<\/i> will come to an end with a two-hour TV movie scheduled to air on Sunday, September 27. The series finale will feature the return of Marg Helgenberger<\/b> (Catherine Willows) and William Petersen<\/b> (Gil Grissom), and according to TV Line<\/a>, there will be a “significant time jump” between the end of season 15 and the start of the TV movie.<\/p>\n

\nAusiello:<\/b> Hey, Bran. Rumor has it the show\u2019s two-hour Sept. 27 swan song will kick off with a significant time jump \u2014 we\u2019re talking roughly six months. I\u2019m also hearing there\u2019s a pivotal death.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nHelgenberger did an interview with Parade<\/a>, in which she discussed the CSI<\/i> finale as well as her upcoming role<\/a> on Under the Dome<\/i>. Here’s a quote:<\/p>\n

You will be going back to CSI<\/i> for the series finale on Sept. 27. Are you looking forward to it?<\/b><\/p>\n

\nI\u2019m excited to get back in the ring with Billy Petersen [Gil Grissom]. We had such a great working relationship. I don\u2019t know any details because it hasn\u2019t been written yet, but I am hoping this will be a nice, proper sendoff\u2014not only for the show itself, but for the fans.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I adore Billy. We had such a great working relationship, so that’ll be a lot of fun. When he left the show, I just sobbed and sobbed and sobbed. I was so upset, but I understood why he wanted to leave. But now I’m looking forward to working with him — and everybody else, too — Jorja<\/b> [Fox<\/b>], George<\/b> [Eads<\/b>] and Eric<\/b> [Szmanda<\/b>]\u2026 I’m hoping that this will be a really nice, proper send off, not only for the show itself, but for the fans.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And of course, there\u2019s the two-hour movie finale for the CSI<\/i> mother ship coming up this fall, right?<\/b><\/p>\n

\nYes! I had dinner with [CSI<\/i> costar] Jorja Fox the other night. I don\u2019t know what the story is yet, but they\u2019re going to pull out all the stops for the end, I\u2019m sure. The fact that Billy [Petersen] agreed to come back is a big one. He doesn\u2019t like to work that much! [Laughs]<\/p>\n

\nHow did you feel when you heard the show was coming to an end after 15 years?<\/b><\/p>\n

\nWhen it was canceled, of course I felt bad for everyone who was still with the show, because I know how I felt leaving it\u2026and I left on my own! I was emotionally distraught. Even three years away from the show, it was sad [to hear of the cancellation]. It feels like the end of an era.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
