CBS announced<\/a> today that CSI: Crime Scene Investigation<\/i> will end with a two-hour TV movie, as previously reported<\/a>. Original stars William Petersen<\/b> (Gil Grissom) and Marg Helgenberger<\/b> (Catherine Willows) are set to reprise their roles in the series-ending storyline, which will air on Sunday, September 27. “We’re actually a little misty-eyed about this one,” CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler<\/b> said<\/a>. “It was a series that was so important to this network, and we will have an epic finale to start the season.” <\/p>\n

\nAdditionally, it was announced that current CSI<\/i> star Ted Danson<\/b> (DB Russell) would join the cast of CSI: Cyber<\/i> going into the show’s second<\/a> season. He will be a series regular, but there is no further information about how else the cast might be affected by the “retooling” mentioned here<\/a>. “It’s going to be a season of very big events,” Tassler revealed<\/a>.<\/p>\n
