As Murray told <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tvguide.com\/News\/NCIS-Holiday-Episode-Sneak-Peek-McGee-Ziva-1090921.aspx\">TV Guide<\/a>, &#8220;He&#8217;s sort of estranged from his father, and part of him writing that letter, I think, is him getting out a lot of stuff he can&#8217;t necessarily say.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\nHere&#8217;s a question from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/606614\/spoiler-chat-revenge-once-upon-a-time-vampire-diaries-and-more\">E! Online<\/a> about tonight&#8217;s episode:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>Annie S.: We never get any spoilers on <i>NCIS<\/i>. So not cool!<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\nConsider this my early Christmas gift for you: &#8220;Our Christmas episode is coming up and it&#8217;s actually called House Rules and it&#8217;s kind of anchored and centered around my character,&#8221; Sean Murray says of the McGee-centric ep. &#8220;It&#8217;s got some surprise to it and some really good stuff in it and I can&#8217;t really divulge a lot of what it is because it&#8217;s got a bit of a twist to it.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\nExecutive Producer <b>Gary Glasberg<\/b> told <a href=\"http:\/\/tvline.com\/gallery\/2014-fall-tv-show-finales-photos-midseason-spoilers\/#!15\/ncis-fall-finale\/\">TV Line<\/a> that &#8220;House Rules&#8221; is an &#8220;entire episode about Gibbs&#8217; Rules. The rules have become a big part of the show&#8217;s moral and professional compass, and who better than Tim McGee to guide us through the list.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\nMurray spoke to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tvfanatic.com\/2014\/12\/ncis-holiday-preview-sean-murray-on-a-softer-gibbs-seeing-ziva-b\/\">TV Fanatic<\/a> about the episode, and here&#8217;s an excerpt:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> <b>TVF:<\/b> Is there some opportunity for the entire cast to be together? I know a lot of the time everyone is splintered off in the various parts of a story.<\/p>\n<p>\n<b>SM:<\/b> I think we do. If not in the episode, we see all the cast together in an episode coming up really soon. We\u2019re going to see a lot of people present and past in this Christmas episode. There\u2019s a lot of reflecting on the past so we see some flashbacks with Ziva, Mike Franks, Jenny Shepard, stuff like that. Again, it\u2019s not really a flashback episode but we see them in montages here and there as we applying talking about the rules and applying them to past situations and we see some of that but Ziva is not returning for the episode, for instance.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\nRegarding the flashbacks mentioned above, Glasberg told <a href=\"http:\/\/tvline.com\/2014\/12\/16\/ncis-season-12-christmas-episode-gibbs-rules\/\">TV Line<\/a>, &#8220;We used stuff all the way back to Season 2, I think. It\u2019s amazing to go back and collect all these different clips, of everybody from <b>Sasha<\/b> [<b>Alexander<\/b>, as Special Agent Kate Todd] to <b>Cote<\/b> [<b>de Pablo<\/b>, as Ziva] to Michael [Weatherly, who plays DiNozzo] referring to the rules.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;House Rules&#8221; is an episode for the fans, according to Murray. &#8220;The long-time fans, they&#8217;re really going to enjoy it, I think,&#8221; he told <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zap2it.com\/blogs\/ncis_visits_gibbs_rules_past_characters_in_emotional_christmas_flashback_episode-2014-12\">Zap2It<\/a>. &#8220;That stuff means a lot and I like when we do it.
