The actor spoke to TV Guide about his dual roles, and here’s an excerpt:

TV Guide Magazine: You don’t feel any need to humanize them, even a little bit, to help us see why they’re so screwed up?

Gosselaar: I usually try to find something in a villain character that makes him human, but not with these two guys. I don’t even try. Jared and Paul feel a bit disposable in the sense that they’re only there to enhance the big product, the CSI franchise. There’s nothing about them that the audience should like. I’d prefer they be hated — and I’m sure the writers and producers would prefer that, too. It makes for a much better relationship between the twins and Ted Danson’s character [night-shift boss D.B. Russell]. I feel no need to give the audience even a little glimmer that makes them think, “Gee, I hope Gosselaar stays around.” This is all about D.B. seeking justice.

Gosselaar also did an interview with TV Line. He recently filmed his third episode (with a fourth to be filmed in early 2015), but he isn’t sure how the Gig Harbor storyline will end:

When I showed up for the first episode, I went up to Christopher Barbour, who wrote all the scripts for these episodes, and I was just like, ‘Who did it?’ He told me, ‘I don’t know, we’re writing it as we go.’ [Laughs] I think you’ll kind of figure out a little bit more by the third episode, but honestly, I still don’t know who committed the crimes. I think I know who’s behind them, but I’m not sure who committed them.

Finally, here’s another interview with Gosselaar, this time with Examiner.com. He confirmed that the writers want to “keep everything open-ended” with the storyline, and here’s a quote about Jared and Paul:

I re-watched the season premiere last night. You did a great job making the two twins very different. Where did you start?

I think I developed Jared first. Jared was the easier of the two in my opinion. Everything is very surface with Jared. What you see is kind of what you get. You don’t know quite why he is the way he is. In this episode, you find out that he was in foster care, so you understand why he is the way he is. Paul, on the other hand, is the one I am still working on. I don’t quite understand him.

Related: Tony Iommi Writes Music For ‘CSI’, ‘CSI’ Searches For Answers In ‘The Twin Paradox’, ‘CSI’ First Look: ‘The Twin Paradox’

Tonight’s episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will be delayed 15 minutes for some viewers…

[2906
3064,2990,2954
post-58448","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-csi-lv","tag-cbs","tag-guest-stars","tag-video
"1536x1536":"","2048x2048":"
["GET
