What has been the greatest challenge of presenting that to the public on “CSI”?

A: When I think back to the first season, and our trying to write about science and the obligation to be accurate — it was a big deal. We had an obligation to explain it so people could understand it — AND be entertaining. It’s really a hard thing to do. A lot of people say ‘CSI’ is all about the science and not about the characters, but if you go back and start in season one, you’ll see we had a lot of character — we married both character and science.
