She has been with the series since it began in 2000, and it wasn&#8217;t an easy decision to say goodbye. &#8220;There are a lot of mixed feelings definitely and in the last few months I have sometimes found myself questioning if it is the right thing to do but ultimately it feels right,&#8221; Helgenberger told the <i>The Daily Record<\/i>. (Spoilers after the jump.)<\/p>\n<p>\n<!--more-->&#8220;I won&#8217;t reveal exactly how I leave the show but I am not being killed off and there could be the possibility for me to return for an episode or two,&#8221; the actress added. Regarding the decision to keep Catherine alive, Helgenberger explained, &#8220;I didn\u2019t want to end up as a corpse on the show.
