Executive Producer <b>Carol Mendelsohn<\/b> said that, while it is &#8220;difficult to say goodbye to a beloved character&#8221; like Catherine, &#8220;it&#8217;s exciting to start a journey&#8221; with a new member of the team. Executive Producer <b>Don McGill<\/b> added that Shue&#8217;s character &#8220;will share a past, in another crime lab, with <b>Ted Danson&#8217;<\/b>s character (DB Russell).&#8221; He continued, &#8220;The first time things didn&#8217;t go so well between the two of them.
