The premiere will feature a tribute to those who died on that fateful day, and fans will learn where the CSIs were during the attack. (Spoilers after the jump!)<\/p>\n<p>\n<!--more--><b>Robert Forster<\/b> will appear in the season eight premiere as retired fire chief Joe Vincent, who lost a son on September 11th. Joe has been working with Mac Taylor (<b>Gary Sinise<\/b>) for the last four months on a project that is very close to both characters. &#8220;We wanted it to be simple and respectful, and I think we accomplished that,&#8221; executive producer <b>Zachary Reiter<\/b> told <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tvguide.com\/News\/Fall-TV-Look-1036750.aspx\">TV Guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\nMac won&#8217;t be the only character whose past is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csifiles.com\/content\/2011\/08\/the-csiny-premiere-gives-mac-some-closure\/\">featured<\/a> in the episode. The premiere will <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csifiles.com\/content\/2011\/08\/new-york-911-flashbacks-wont-feature-every-team-member\/\">show<\/a> when Danny Messer (<b>Carmine Giovinazzo<\/b>) and Don Flack (<b>Eddie Cahill<\/b>) first met, as well as giving fans a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csifiles.com\/content\/2011\/08\/veasey-we-wanted-to-make-it-a-tribute-show\/\">glimpse<\/a> at Jo Danville&#8217;s (<b>Sela Ward<\/b>) perspective from Washington, DC. TV Line <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tvline.com\/2011\/08\/matts-inside-line-scoop-csi-ny-good-wife-supernatural\/\">reports<\/a> that Adam Ross (<b>AJ Buckley<\/b>) and Lindsay Messer (<b>Anna Belknap<\/b>) may not have been in NYC at the time, but they both volunteered in the wake of 9\/11.
