Former leading man William Petersen<\/b> reprised his role as Gil Grissom in “The Two Mrs Grissoms”<\/a> during CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’<\/i>s eleventh season, but the character only appeared via Skype during the episode. Is it possible that he’ll come back during season 12? “Listen, every year we go to Billy—it’s sort of like a pilgrimage—to say, ‘Will you come back?’ Last year we were successful, and he came back for that one episode,” executive producer Carol Mendelsohn<\/b> told TV Line.<\/a> “We talked to Billy a few weeks ago, and he was talking about what Gil might cook for dinner for Sara [Sidle, Jorja Fox<\/b>]—and he said ‘grilled cheese went very well with beer’—so you never know. I mean, they are married, and we’d like the audience to be able to see Gil and Sara sometime.”<\/p>\n

\nTV Guide’<\/i>s William Keck<\/b> posted on Twitter<\/a> that Petersen has indeed agreed to come back to CSI<\/i> in order to help leading lady Marg Helgenberger<\/b> (Catherine Willows) with her upcoming exit from the series. However, CBS has not confirmed Petersen’s temporary return.
