Sela Ward<\/b> (Jo Danville) is the newest addition to the CSI: New York<\/i> cast. She will be introduced in the season seven premiere on Friday, September 24 at 9:00pm ET\/PT—but Ward’s connection to New York’<\/i>s leading man Gary Sinise<\/b> (Mac Taylor) goes back more than a decade.<\/p>\n
\nSinise and Ward first met during the 1990s. They were both on the award show circuit at the time—Sinise was nominated for the HBO film Truman<\/i>, and Ward was also in the TV Movie category for the Lifetime film Almost Golden: The Jessica Savitch Story<\/i>. “We were bumping into each other at the different events, and I sat next to her at the CableACE Awards,” Sinise told Zap2It. “She won and I won, and when the winners are backstage, they get their picture taken together. There’s a picture online somewhere of us holding up our awards, and that was the last time I saw her until she came to work on our show.”<\/p>\n
