Details of the character&#8217;s &#8220;noble&#8221; exit from the series have now been revealed. Spoilers after the jump!<\/p>\n<p>\n<!--more-->She may not be working with Mac Taylor (<b>Gary Sinise<\/b>) in the New York Crime Lab any more, but Stella won&#8217;t be leaving in a body bag. &#8220;We&#8217;re giving her a noble exit,&#8221; co-executive producer <b>Zachary Reiter<\/b> told <i>Entertainment Weekly<\/i>. &#8220;We chose not to go the route of killing her off or having her go missing. We felt that would weigh too heavily on the team.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\nInstead, Stella will take a new job in New Orleans. When season seven gets underway, several months have passed since the season six finale, and she has already moved to her new home. &#8220;She left to run a lab there,&#8221; explained executive producer <b>Pam Veasey<\/b>. &#8220;And she picked that city because it&#8217;s the city of Katrina, the city of BP oil, the city where people are looking for someone to lend a hand.&#8221; Veasey added, &#8220;She&#8217;ll essentially be Mac in New Orleans.
