The new CBS remake of the classic series Hawaii Five-0<\/i> will occupy CSI: Miami<\/i>‘s former timeslot, and it includes elements that will be familiar to fans of CSI<\/i>.<\/p>\n
\nAs CSI Files previously reported, former CSI: New York<\/i> executive producer Peter Lenkov<\/b> is now helming<\/a> the remake, which will debut in the fall on Monday nights at 10:00pm ET\/PT. The series is taking the place of Miami<\/i>, which is shifting<\/a> to Sunday nights. Like the show it is replacing, Five-0<\/i> has elements of a procedural drama, but it also injects a lot of character into each episode. <\/p>\n \n“It’s really going to be character driven, it’s not just going to be procedural,” actor Scott Caan<\/b>, who plays Detective Danny Williams in the remake, explained to Entertainment Tonight<\/i>. “You’re going to get the people that like watching CSI<\/i> for the procedural aspect of it, but it’s also going to be like a movie in the sense of [being] driven by characters.”<\/p>\n \n“This is kind of an aggressive contemporary continuation of what we knew to be the old show,” Alex O’Loughlin<\/b> (Moonlight<\/i>, Three Rivers<\/i>) added. O’Loughlin is taking on the leading role of Steve McGarrett. “It has the great stuff that the old show had,” he continued. “It has the crimes, the characters and the drive of the show. We have more comedy than the old show. It is a little faster than it was.
