‘CSI’ Pursues Dr Jekyll & Includes A ‘Final Twist’

2 min read

The CSI: Crime Scene Investigation team must trust a killer to catch a killer in tonight’s season finale, “Meat Jekyll”. (Spoilers after the jump!)

The CSIs have been chasing after Dr Jekyll all season. At the end of last week’s episode, “Doctor Who”, the “Dick and Jane” serial killer Nate Haskell (Bill Irwin) called Dr Ray Langston (Laurence Fishburne) and said he had details about the elusive killer. As CSI Files previously reported, Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) puts her job on the line by bringing Haskell in, which angers Captain Jim Brass (Paul Guilfoyle). “How much of what Haskell is giving them is truth?” executive producer Carol Mendelsohn told TVGuide.com. “Langston believes that in the lies are some truths, and that the truths that Haskell is spinning will actually help in the investigation. And little by little, they do get closer to Dr Jekyll.”

Fans will finally get a look at who Dr Jekyll really is, Mendelsohn added. “You will see him in physical form in all his glory, and we will find out everything—what he does for a living, why he kills—and I think we find out perhaps more than we’ve ever found out about any serial killer [on our show],” she explained.

“You will spend a lot of time with Dr Jekyll. We really get a window,” Mendelsohn continued. That window is opened when some of the CSIs are held hostage. “We will be with Dr Jekyll as he watches and waits for his last victim as they are dying. Some of the CSIs will be with him, but Dr Jekyll will definitely have the upper hand.”

Dr Jekyll has the upper hand, and the CSIs could be in trouble if they underestimate their source of information on the serial killer. “I don’t think Nate Haskell ever does anything that’s not planned out. Everything with him is calculated there is always a grand design,” Mendelsohn revealed. “You have to watch until the very last frame of the show to see the final twist. The fans will see a fitting end for Dr Jekyll, but the fans will not have seen the end of Nate Haskell.”
