  • Chicago Sun-Times readers were asked which TV heart throbs make them swoon and do anything on earth just to catch them on the small screen each week. CSI:NY’s Carmine Giovinazzo made the list of “TV boyfriends.” Special thanks to Jkladis of Talk CSI for discovering this gem in his local paper.

  • All three CSI shows were ratings winners last week. On Monday, CSI:Miami scored the biggest audience of the night with an 11.4/18. Remarkably, its rating beat the combined total of NBC’s Studio 60, 5.1/8, and ABC’s What About Brian, 4.4/7. Wednesday night CSI:NY was similarly unmatched with a 10.9/18, against Dateline, 6.0/10, and The Nine, 5.2/8. On Thursday night, a CSI rerun beat a Gray’s Anatomy rerun by a considerable margin -- 10.8/16 to 8.4/13. For more ratings info, visit Zap 2 It.

  • According to the Edmonton Sun, recent CSI guest star Kevin Federline’s new album “Playing With Fire” is set for a Halloween release.

  • Four Nirvana songs will provide strong thematic elements for an upcoming episode of CSI:Miami about evil military recruiters. The iconic song “Song As You Are” will be the lynchpin of the episode. For more information, see the Chicago Tribune.

  • Real Movie News has given the CSI:NY Season 2 DVD set a 3 star rating out of 5. It was remarked that “the lack of commentary tracks will frustrate fans.”

  • Real Movie News has given the CSI:Miami Season 3 Part 2 DVD set a 4 star rating (out of 5), noting that the set has “some good DVD bonus features” and “While it would have been nice to have some more commentaries, there is still enough for fans to enjoy here.”

  • Los Angeles based non-profit Rock Works has undertaken a campaign to help rebuild the Forest Heights Boys & Girls Club, which was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina.   • The Fox show Vanished created by CSI alum Josh Berman took the unusual step of killing off the star of the show and firing the lead actor. The show’s storyline will be wrapping up in 13 episodes, rather than the initially anticipated 22. For more, see USA Today.

  • Actor Dave Andrews, who appeared on CSI as a hotel guest in last season’s “Killer” episode,” will play one of the lead characters in an apocalyptic story Vortex of Revelation. For more, read York Daily Record.

  • Specialty Board Games has partnered with Alliance Atlantis to bring the new CSI board game CSI:Senses to the international market. The game, which features multi-sensory components that test players’ vision, hearing, memory, communication and IQ skills, will soon be available throughout the world.   • CSI:Miami star David Caruso was recently honored with the Spirit of Leadership Award at the annual Best Buddies Ball benefiting Best Buddies International and its programs for people with intellectual disabilities. For the full article, visit Yahoo News.

  • Mennonite Minister Randall Jacob Hostetler Haffley was recently charged with tampering with evidence when he showed up on the scene of a fatal Pittsburgh crash last month. Haffley was wearing a lab coat with “CSI” written on it, had a makeshift ID and had “CSI” written on his van. Police say this is the first case of a man impersonating a CSI they have seen.
