Cahill Reveals: Working With Sinise Is 'Awweesome'

Eddie Cahill (Det. Don Flack) recently talked to Cult Times Magazine about his impressions of New York and what it's like to have Gary Sinise on the set.

Sinise has left an impression on the younger cast members of New York, particularly Eddie Cahill, who has adopted the older man as his teacher. "[Working with Sinise] has been awesome with a capital awweesome!" Cahill told the magazine. "It is great. I'm the kind of guy who likes mentors. I'm a young guy, I am 27 years old, and I like having mentors and he's somebody I am proud to follow at work. He's a generous man, incredibly talented, and the same can be said for Melina [Kanakaredes]. They both have so much valuable experience which they are more than willing to hand down."

Before joining the cast of CSI: New York, Cahill starred in the short-lived WB drama series Glory Days. The actor admitted his love for the rush of working on television to the magazine, and revealed what sets New York apart from the other CSIs. "What distinguishes New York is the city," he admitted. "As we go further and further into the show, the city takes more of a leading role. I also think having three of us from New York helps, too. New Yorkers have a distinct personality and how they express themselves is highly unique."

Cahill's also revealed his favorite episode, which came as no surprise. "It's called The Fall," the actor revealed. "What I loved about it is it's a real personal story between my character and the guy who brought him along in the Department, who we learned has served as a father figure to Flack. It was a gift to me because I learned a lot more about my character beyond that he can grab a guy on his way out or do an interrogation."

The rest of the interview, in which Cahill talks about growing up chubby and New Yorker, can be found in the 116th edition of Cult Times Magazine.
