CBS yesterday released the promo for "What's Eating Gilbert Grissom?", next week's first CSI November sweeps episode.

In the episode, Grissom is haunted by the return of the blue paint serial killer that got away two years ago. As the CSI team investigates the multiple murders on the WLVU college campus, they realize that the murders took place on the two-year anniversary of the execution of John Mathers, a man found guilty of murdering a woman in the same manner as these new victims at this college campus, as seen in "The Execution of Catherine Willows." The main clue tying four murders together is the blue paint found on all the victims' hands. The killer fooled the CSI team two years ago, when another murder took place the night of John Mathers' execution, and Grissom and team are determined to not let that happen again.

[Catherine walks past.]

[In a park, Nick picks up something from the ground.]

[A police assault team runs up the stairs to a building.]

[Someone retrieves a piece of paper from the mouth of a blow-up doll.]

Catherine: "He chose her."

Brass: "...ritualistic..."
