CSI Files sources today revealed that in the upcoming CSI: Miami episode "Speed Kills", Horatio's team will be confronted with the case of a man who was looking for love, but found his own demise.

Every week, the lovelorn of Miami gather in the downtown Neuron Lounge. They're here to participate in speed dating: fifteen men and fifteen women meet each other for five minutes, one at a time, and then move on to the next candidate. Tonight, one of the men making the rounds of the ladies' tables is Richard Laken, who finds himself opposite a seductively smiling model on his first date and is sure he's got the night of his life ahead of him. But when a few hours later his dead body is found next to his car, it's clear the only thing that Richard took away from his dates was the kiss of death.

Horatio and his CSIs are called in to investigate. They discover that whoever killed Richard wasn't just satisfied with bludgeoning him to death, but also worked over the hood of his expensive sports car with nail polish remover. Horatio concludes it must have been a crime of passion committed by a woman. Great - now they've only got fifteen female speed daters to investigate.

Could the killer be Mary Harris? She went out with Richard a few weeks ago and thought they would make a good couple, until he told her he was going back to his ex. When she ran into him at the Neuron Lounge and realised he'd lied to her, her disappointment might have turned into murderous rage. To make matters worse, Mary works as a cosmetologist and could have easily obtained all the nail polish remover she'd need. But she says she watched Richard leave before the final bell and swears she didn't follow him out.

Or could it have been Rebecca Briggs? At 29, she's always very unsure of herself, and enjoyed the confidence boost when Richard sat down at her table and seemed really attracted to her. But then he kept glancing at some woman behind her and left Rebecca's table before the five minutes were halfway over. Did Rebecca kill Richard to soothe her bruised ego? But it turns out she has a bigger axe to grind: last week she returned from her night of speed dating to find her house robbed, and she came back to see if the thief was someone who overheard her spilling her life story. It wasn't Richard.

Horatio's list of suspects is only growing. Maybe Richard stood in the way of Rebecca's mysterious thief when he tried to con another woman at the event. Or maybe the killer was the owner of the Neuron Lounge, who was illegally recording all the conversations at the tables and might not have been too pleased if Richard found out. And what about the model that Richard encountered on his first date? If she's got fashion spreads lined up in all the major magazines, why is she still waiting tables in a nearby bar?

Suspects abound in CSI: Miami. Find out who did it when "Speed Kills" airs later this year.

Please note that these plot details have not yet been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The information comes from an early draft of the script and aspects of the episode may change before it goes to air.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
